Recycle Electronics at Best Buy for Free
Over the past several months I’ve been so busy with work that my office has become quite cluttered with stuff I’m not even using. It probably doesn’t help that last month we upgraded my work computer and got a new printer and wanted to keep all the old parts and pieces just in case we needed them one day. However, some of the pieces are really old or don’t even work anymore, so there’s really no use to keep them, is there?
What do you with old electronics you don’t want anymore though? I don’t want to just toss them in the trash and recycling seems the much more responsible thing to do, but I know some friends that have done so and it’s not exactly cheap. Luckily, just in time for my spring cleaning, I found out that you can take your electronics to Best Buy to be recycled for free at every location in the US and Puerto Rico.
As I’m sure you know, technology is the fastest growing waste source on the planet. While I think it’s important that we all do small things to help make the world a better place in a variety of ways, I really admire when companies take the initiative to be part of the solution as well like Best Buy has to safely and responsibly dispose of electronics. Can you believe Best Buy recycles 387 pounds each minute their stores are open?! I also love that when you recycle your old electronics, you can replace them with Energy Star certified products that Best Buy carries.
Have you used Best Buy to recycle electronics for free? What was your experience?
