The Product: Prefense Hand Sanitizer
About Prefense: Prefense is an alcohol-free, silica based hand sanitizer. Since it contains no alcohol, it can even moisturize your hands and nails! One application should last 24 hours or 10 handwashings. As a plus, since this hand sanitizer is water-based, it’s non-flammable and safe for kids. Prenfense’s website can be found here, and on Twitter, and Facebook.
My Experience with the Product: I will admit that I’ve never been much of a hand sanitizer user. First of all, I prefer using them in the winter when colds and flu seem to be more prominent, but most contain alcohol and with the dry winter air, even drier skin is something I just don’t need. I also think that they tend to get overused and I never jumped on the bandwagon of killing ALL germs is a good thing because it’s my personal belief that it hurts us all in the long run. However, there are just some times that we all need to be a little more sanitary.
First of all, I like this sort of product when I’m on the go, and love that the bottles comes in a 1.5 fl oz size so I can easily stick it in my purse without it taking up a ton of room. During my review time, I’ve used the product several times and I’ve really enjoyed Prefense, especially in comparison to other products out there. First of all, the scent is a very light citrus and overall clean smell. I thought my cats may turn up their nose when I went to pet them, since most cats don’t approve of citrus scents, but they just sniffed my hands a bit more than usual with no objections. I really loved that the product comes out as a foam versus a gel because I can make sure I cover my hands completely without them being sticky or not completely drying. I wasn’t able to feel any residue left behind, and my hands weren’t dried out thanks to the lack of alcohol. In fact, my hands even felt a bit more moisturized! I also like that Prefense is colorless and won’t stain clothing or other items it may get dropped onto when kids use it.
Final Takeaway: I enjoyed my use of Prefense Hand Sanitizer and would continue using it in the future.
