The first time I had a taste of avocados I was a young child. Unfortunately, I totally did not like the flavor and found it mushy and just overall icky. In my adult hindsight, it was probably an overripe avocado and oviously not the best quality overall – clearly not Avocados from Mexico. While I'm sad to say that icky thoughts stuck with me until my early adult years, I finally decided to give avocados a try again in my early 20's after reading so often that avocados were so healthy to eat and that even though they were fatty, it was the good kind of fat. Since I was trying to get healthier I decided I had nothing to lose and gave them a go and I'm so glad that I did!
I feel like I was left out of the loop of avocado goodness for far too long, but I'm certainly making up for lost time now. Not only are avocados great to make guacamole out of, but I also enjoy slices in salads (diced in corn salad is yummy too) and spread on sandwiches for a healthier alternative to mayo. I've even seen some recipes for avocado pie that I just may have to try even thought the concept is totally foreign to me!
Okay, obviously I love avocados now. So, I was totally excited to see that there's a Avocados from Mexico Cafe Press store full of gear and clothing for avocado lovers like me. I just had to pick up the I Love Avocados Cocktail Platter that I can't wait to serve some new avocado recipes on! I love themed plates like this, plus there's a lot of other mugs, shirts and more you can buy.
Do you love avocados too? Head on over to the Share the Avocado Love Facebook app and take a look at all the avocado products you can snag like free ringtones, wallpapers and more. I saved the avocado mac and cheese wallpaper for a tasty April Fool's inspiration idea!
