Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends Review

I know eating a good quality and healthy breakfast is important, but it’s something I’ve struggled with all my life, especially during the work week. I’ll be honest and say there are still many mornings I don’t really eat a real breakfast and instead opt for brunch because I just don’t feel hungry. So, the mornings I can actually talk myself into breakfast, I want something quick, easy and healthy. With that in mind, I usually turn to yogurt or cereal, but it’s easy to get tired of the same old flavors of both. That’s why I was very interested when I was given the opportunity to write a Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends review as the cereal is full of flavors like coconut and mango, which are certainly not traditional cereal flavors.

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends Review: As I said, if I eat breakfast, many mornings I will turn to cereal for something quick and relatively healthy. I very rarely eat sugary cereals, so the tastes of grains and corn get a bit bland and boring after a while, especially considering I’ll sometimes have a bowl of cereal for a snack or even for dinner when I’m in the mood. When I noticed that the new Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, a long-time favorite cereal brand of mine, had some of my favorite flavors like mango and coconut, I was quite intrigued. Coconut and mango in cereal isn’t quite the norm, after all, though I have had both dried in granola before so I figured it couldn’t be too bad.

Over the weekend we had a hearty lunch and we weren’t overly hungry to go to the trouble of warming up some food, so I decided to have a bowl of the Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends. As you can see from the picture, the cereal flakes are the usual Honey Bunches of Oats style with bits of dried coconut and mango dotting the bowl. I took a bite and it was certainly chock full of tropical flavor with a hint of sweetness and the usual crunch I’ve come to expect from Honey Bunches of Oats. The cereal itself is pretty good, though I have had a rough time trying to wrap my head around a cold cereal tasting this way. However, I really love it dry on it’s on as a snack, kind of like a granola, or sprinkled on yogurt. The boyfriend tried some of it with milk and didn’t really care for it.

Final Takeaway: The cereal has a great tropical flavor on its own, but we didn’t really care for it in milk as a traditional cereal. It’s much better on its own as a snack.
